Weekend Toll Hits 14 as Russian Forces Unleash Coordinated Strikes on Ukrainian Cities.

Ongoing Attacks Across Ukraine

According to UATV: Russia’s latest wave of heavy assaults on Ukraine—part of the war that began in February 2022—has resulted in numerous civilian casualties, damaged infrastructure, and destroyed homes. On July 25, the Russian military struck Kramatorsk, Druzhkivka, Mykolaivka, Belenke, Raihorodok, and Mayaky in the Donetsk region. An attack on Sloviansk killed six people and wounded 30 others. In Zaporizhzhia, two civilians were killed and over 20 wounded on Saturday; on Sunday, four guided aerial bombs hit the city, killing one more resident.

Civilian Deaths and International Response

In Kyiv, falling debris injured three people, while in Kharkiv a missile-drone known as a 'Banderol' killed one man and wounded 14. The Dnipropetrovsk region reported two dead and three injured, and in Kherson province artillery fire killed two and wounded 24. Over the past week, Russian forces have used nearly 1,700 drones, over 1,600 aerial bombs, and 95 missiles.

The global community continues to back Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated:

“Every day we work with partners to ensure our soldiers have the means to counter these strikes.”

“Latvia stands with Ukraine. We will keep supporting the work of our honorary consul Oleksandr Pavenko and everyone on the front line helping their people.”

European Union nations are maintaining sanctions against Russia, and international support for Ukraine remains strong. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev remarked: 'I have said this from the very beginning—this is an interstate conflict, not a civil war,' underscoring the need for global recognition of the situation. Ukrainian diplomat Andriy Sybiha praised Tokayev’s call to Putin to 'stop the war now.' Polish Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz also noted that 'the terrorist attacks by the Russian army on Ukrainian cities must not go unpunished.'

On July 28, Zelenskyy is scheduled to meet with Donald Trump, highlighting Ukraine’s ongoing diplomatic efforts on the world stage.

Ukrainian authorities remain on the front line of the struggle, actively seeking ways to strengthen defense capabilities and engage global partners.
