Four Years of War: How Ukraine's Military Has Transformed, According to Brigadier General Yevhen Lasiichuk.
Ukraine's Military Transformation Examined
According to TSN.ua: At a special meeting of the Yalta European Strategy (YES) convened to mark the fourth anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Brigadier General Yevhen Lasiichuk, commander of the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces, detailed the army's evolution and the changing role of paratroopers over the past four years. The discussion highlighted a military that has adapted rapidly under immense pressure.
Lasiichuk stated that the character and courage of service members were the foundation of Ukraine's success in 2022. He explained that modern combat management is now driven by the implementation of automated systems.
“The key to successfully applying technology is well-trained personnel,” the general emphasized.Despite these Ukrainian successes, the situation remains difficult. On the Pokrovsk front, Russian forces have amassed one of their largest troop concentrations, and the enemy's mobilization resources significantly exceed Ukraine's.
The Current Frontline Reality
The general also noted that over the last six months, more than 15,000 Russian troops have been eliminated. Yet, even after these losses, the adversary continues to commit reserves and has not abandoned its operational objectives. These factors underscore that the Ukrainian army continues to face severe challenges, notwithstanding its significant achievements and ongoing transformation.
Lasiichuk's YES discussion stresses the critical need for Ukrainian forces to adapt to new warfare conditions and to continuously improve personnel training. Given the enemy's substantial resources, Ukraine's armed forces must maintain a high state of readiness and respond swiftly to changes on the battlefield to counter the threats they face. This ongoing struggle underscores the vital importance of sustained international support and cooperation in countering aggression.
