Ukraine Strikes Drone Factory and Oil Refinery in Russia – Targets Hit Up to 900 Kilometers Away.
Attacks on Russia’s Military Infrastructure
According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian forces have conducted strikes on military and energy infrastructure inside Russia, hitting a factory in Cheboksary and an oil refinery in the Samara region. These operations are part of an ongoing campaign aimed at crippling Russian military assets and resources that support the Kremlin’s war effort.
Among the targets hit:
- A plant in Cheboksary that manufactures components for Russian drones and missiles.
- The Kuibyshevsky oil refinery in the Samara region, located over 900 kilometers from the front lines.
Additional strikes targeted two facilities in Russia’s Vladimir region, roughly 700 kilometers away. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the actions, stating:
“We continue to apply Ukrainian long-range sanctions against Russian military sites and the oil industry.” – Volodymyr Zelenskyy
He also thanked soldiers from the Special Operations Forces, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the Main Intelligence Directorate for their effective work, underscoring the importance of such missions in the armed conflict.
Zelenskyy added:
“We also achieved fully justified responses from the SBU against two oil infrastructure targets in the Vladimir region.” – Volodymyr Zelenskyy
These remarks highlight Ukraine’s proactive stance in countering Russia, focusing on destroying critical assets that sustain the enemy’s military operations.
Shift in Ukrainian Tactics
The strikes on Russian infrastructure signal a shift in Ukrainian tactics, as forces actively seek to destroy enemy resources far from the front lines. Such actions could significantly hinder Russia’s ability to sustain its army, especially amid a protracted war.
Emphasizing the importance of these operations, Ukrainian leadership continues to stress its determination to defend national security and territorial integrity.
