Amy, who has been involved in athletics since she was 23, considers her performance in the 200 meters final 'sexy and aggressive'. She finished second, losing only to American Melissa Jefferson-Wooden.
Despite having faced health issues in previous years, this achievement marked a significant comeback for her. During the race, she thought about her plan and tried to set an aggressive tone. Reflecting on her internal motivational words, the sprinter noted:
“I just stood there and said to myself 'go and destroy them'.”
Hunt demands maximum focus from herself, striving to overcome all fears. She also shared how she balanced her studies at Cambridge, where she studied English literature, with athletics. After her studies, she participated in the 2024 Olympic Games, where she helped the Great Britain team win silver in the 4x100 meter relay.
After the finish, Hunt admitted she couldn't hold back tears and emotions when she saw her mother:
“I am so proud of myself, a minute before the race I thought about my grandfather. I knew he was watching over me…”
She also mentioned how she plans to celebrate her achievement, expressing a desire: “Maybe a little karaoke tonight.”
Regarding her song choice, Hunt added: “Probably Maneater. It might sound simple, but it fits the atmosphere perfectly – everything should be sexy and aggressive.”
Thus, Amy Hunt demonstrated not only her sporting talent but also her ability to overcome challenges, exemplified by her own story. This achievement will be an important milestone in her career and will undoubtedly inspire many young athletes who dream of success despite all obstacles. Her plans include further competitions that could be another step towards new victories.
