British Cryptocurrency Miner Wants to Buy a Landfill: Unexpected Reason.

British miner James Howells continues to search for his lost hard drive with bitcoins at a landfill, but he has now decided to buy the territory. Local authorities announced plans to close the landfill, and now Howells is trying to resolve the situation.
The hard drive ended up at the landfill after the miner's girlfriend accidentally threw it in the trash. Howells has not lost hope of finding his bitcoins and has been actively looking for them ever since. The value of the lost bitcoins reached $750 million, which has further piqued his interest in the search.
However, the city council has already refused Howells to conduct excavations at the landfill nine times. The court also supported the authorities' position in January 2025. But Howells does not give up and has decided to buy the landfill to not lose his chances.
The amount he is willing to spend is kept secret by Howells.
Interestingly, in Finland, houses are heated using mining farms. The company Marathon Digital Holdings uses the thermal energy produced from cryptocurrency mining to heat homes.
There is also a woman in the USA who makes $10,000 collecting garbage. She started this unusual hobby in her teenage years and turned it into a source of income.
