Warehouse closure with huge discounts
According to The Sun: A British brand of furniture, bedding, and home decor has announced a sale with discounts of up to 50% due to the closure of its warehouse after 10 years of operation.
The company confirmed that the warehouse will close tomorrow, lowering prices on sofas, chairs, beds, tables, and other items.
The business confirmed that the store will reopen at 9:00 AM on Friday BM Furniture noted that its stores in Cleveleys and South Shore will not be affected and will continue normal trading
BM Furniture has joined the wave of closures in 2025 as stores and services in the UK struggle for survival
BM Furniture, located in Bispham, is closing due to the expiration of its lease.
Announcing the closure on Facebook, a company representative stated:
“The BM Bispham warehouse is closing its doors for good.”
“Every piece of furniture must be sold.”
“We are closing the doors to reprice everything, as this is a unique sale – the largest ever seen at Field Cost.”
The warehouse will reopen for shoppers at 9:00 AM on Friday for the sale, with all items sold on a “first come, first served” basis.
BM Furniture also confirmed that its stores in Cleveleys and South Shore will remain unchanged and continue operations as usual.
The state of retail in the UK
This closure is just one of many in 2025, as the retail and service sector in the UK faces significant challenges.
The beauty chain Bodycare announced administration last month, closing 32 stores and losing up to 450 jobs, later reporting the closure of all remaining locations.
The creative store Hobbycraft announced in April 2025 the closure of nine stores by mid-July, threatening up to 126 jobs, along with further cuts at the headquarters and distribution center.
Meanwhile, Poundland has begun sales in 18 branches, leading up to permanent closures as part of restructuring, which could result in around 1,000 job losses.
Retailer analyses suggest that up to 400 large stores in the UK could close in 2025, potentially leading to a loss of up to 100,000 jobs if all close.
Stores across the UK struggle for stability
The closure of the BM Furniture warehouse in Bispham has become yet another warning sign for the state of retail in the UK. A brand that has been in the market for ten years is now leaving its customers without the ability to purchase furniture directly. In parallel, several other major retail companies are also reporting closures and layoffs due to economic difficulties in the country. In this situation, the issue of survival for many businesses is becoming increasingly pressing. Read also
