How to save on chocolate

We all love a bit of chocolate from time to time, but you don't have to spend a lot of money on your favorite treats.

Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs...

Choose the store brand – if taste doesn’t matter too much and you just need to satisfy your chocolate craving, go for the supermarket's store brand chocolate.

Compare prices – if you've found your favorite type of chocolate, make sure to check if it's cheaper at other stores.

Websites like Trolley.co.uk allow you to compare prices for products across all major chains so you can get the best deal.

Look for yellow stickers – supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange or red stickers on discounted products.

This usually happens if the product is nearing its expiration date or if the packaging is slightly damaged.

Buy in bulk – generally, chocolate is cheaper per 100g in larger packs.

So, if you plan to buy a lot of chocolate, it’s better to go for larger packs.

In preparation for the holidays, discounts on chocolate boxes in supermarkets provide consumers with the opportunity to save on traditional treats. This is especially relevant when Christmas shopping requires significant expenses. Retailers are actively competing for shoppers, offering attractive promotions that can appeal not only to sweet lovers but also to those planning for Easter celebrations.
