Britons are increasingly rejecting Spain due to protests: top destinations named.
According to The Sun: Britons are increasingly turning away from vacationing in Spain due to protests organized by locals. This is evidenced by the results of a new survey.
56% of respondents, who were used to vacationing in Spain, admitted that this year they chose other destinations.
GettyApproximately 80% of respondents noted that protests affected their desire to visit their favorite tourist country.
The protests were a response to issues related to overcrowding of tourists and rising housing prices.
Among those avoiding Spain, popular destinations have become Italy, Greece, the USA, and Dubai.
Redirecting Tourists
While older tourists choose Italy and the Amalfi Coast, the younger generation prefers more distant countries.
“It is quite obvious from the research that Britain's love for Spain has been tested,” noted Jenna Banks, a representative of Slice Mobile, which conducted the survey among 2,000 Britons.
“Perhaps we have not completely said adios to Marbella, but the growing popularity of distant destinations like Dubai and America makes it important to find a mobile network that offers advantageous international roaming, such as Slice Mobile,” she added.id='6374319110112' data-video-id='6374319110112' data-account='5067014667001' data-player='default' data-usage='cms:WordPress:6.5.6:2.8.6:javascript' data-embed='default' class='video-js' data-application-id='' controls style='width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute; top: 0; bottom: 0; right: 0; left: 0;'>
