Russia Is 'Running Out of Steam': Expert Explains Drop in Missile Strikes.
Breaking Down Russia's Missile Campaign Against Ukraine
According to Espreso.tv: Aviation expert Valeriy Romanenko has examined the recent pattern of Russian missile attacks on Ukraine, highlighting a notable decline in both their frequency and destructive power. Comparing attack data, he points out:
- On June 2, Russia launched 33 ballistic missiles;
- On June 15, it fired 34;
- Recently, the number of missiles launched by Russia dropped to 24.
This trend indicates that the enemy no longer has enough resources to carry out extraordinary, massive strikes.
In June, Russia conducted only two large-scale attacks, further signaling reduced activity. However, on the night of July 2, a new massive assault occurred, raising the death toll in Kyiv to 21. Romanenko observes that
“they are slowly but surely 'running out of steam.' This is very clear from the nature of their strikes.”
Shifts in Russian Tactics and Resources
Additionally, the expert reports that in June, Russia launched roughly two thousand fewer drones than its usual monthly average. Despite this, Ukraine's air defense system continues to perform effectively, having destroyed over 500 targets. These facts point to a change in both the tactics and the available resources of Russian forces amid the current frontline situation.
The reduction in missile and drone attacks from Russia may signal a depletion of its war resources against Ukraine, which could in turn shape the conflict's future trajectory. The effectiveness of Ukraine's air defense also underscores its ability to adapt to new challenges and maintain control of the skies—a critical factor in the fight for territorial integrity. With fewer attacks occurring, both sides may be forced to reconsider their strategies moving forward.
