Ryder Cup 2025: The first pairs in the Foursomes in New York announced.

According to The Sun: The Ryder Cup 2025 is approaching, and now it is known who will kick off the competitions in the first session at Bethpage Black in New York on Friday morning. Bryson DeChambeau has been entrusted with being the first American player to heat up the atmosphere for the local fans.

The captain of the American team, Keegan Bradley, has decided that the format of the Foursomes will be played in the morning session, where players take turns hitting, while in the afternoon session Bestballs will be played.

Normally, the pairs for Friday are announced on Thursday at the tournament kick-off; however, organizers have postponed this part by one day due to bad weather.

This time, Bradley and his European counterpart Luke Donald confirmed their decisions during a live broadcast on Golf Channel and explained them at the press conference.

Donald has kept two pairs from the memorable morning in Rome two years ago:

• Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton
• Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood

With the other pairs, Ludwig Åberg will partner with Matt Fitzpatrick and Viktor Hovland with Robert MacIntyre.

Bradley places DeChambeau at the top, as the player with big hits will be partnered with Justin Thomas in the open pair.

As for the remaining pairs, they will be Scottie Scheffler with Russell Henley, Collin Morikawa with Harris English, and Xander Schauffele with Patrick Cantlay.

The game begins at 7:10 AM Eastern Time (12:10 PM British time) on Friday - it will be an exciting kick-off as DeChambeau and Thomas face Rahm and Hatton.

Bradley explained his choice: “Bryson and Justin bring energy to our team.”

“Bryson is an incredible teammate, and we really want him to lead our team along with Justin.”

The captain also noted that, weather permitting, DeChambeau might attempt to play the first hole.

DeChambeau said: “The first hole could definitely be a challenge if the wind is blowing from the right direction.”

Sam Burns, Ben Griffin, Cam Young, and J. J. Spaun will remain on the bench for the USA, while Europeans Justin Rose, Sepp Straka, Shane Lowry, and Rasmus Højgaard will watch the morning session.

“We expect a great atmosphere, and I can’t wait to make the first shot,” added Bradley.

It is important to have a good start to build confidence within the team. Whether DeChambeau can implement his plan on Friday remains unclear until the start.
