Budanov explained whom Ukraine will primarily return from Russian captivity.
Ukraine primarily hands over seriously wounded, women and those who have been in captivity for a long Time, as well as soldiers from "Azovstal". This was stated by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kyrylo Budanov at a joint briefing with the heads of the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Internal Affairs, HUR MOU, SZR and the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights.
According to him: “We will try to adhere to the following principles: first of all - to return all seriously wounded and seriously ill. Second - all women, third - all those who have been in captivity for a long time. The longer they are in captivity, unfortunately, the more effort we will put into their return. Fourth - the situation at "Azovstal" is especially important to us. Therefore, we pay special attention to the return of those who were there. We will also try our best to return all other civilian hostages who have been in captivity since the beginning of the invasion, as well as those who have been there for ten years. We will not forget about the Crimean Tatars and other groups to which we also pay attention. Such decisions will be made today. They will be implemented.”
As reported, the special forces of the Security Service carried out the largest capture of the enemy in one go. The soldiers captured and cleared a sprawling, concrete and well-fortified company stronghold with underground communications and living quarters for personnel. The enemy did not plan to surrender, the captives had enough supplies and ammunition.
