“I am very proud of everything I have achieved to this day; I always want to win, but I accept this defeat with humility and learning,” he said on Instagram.
“I am very grateful to my team for all the sacrifices we have made together over the years.”
“I have already won because I have my family beside me and millions of fans who have never stopped supporting me.”
“Lastly, thank you to Fernanda, my wife; for her patience and for not letting go of my hand throughout this process.”

Crawford achieved an impressive victory by unanimous decision after 12 rounds of outstanding boxing, becoming the holder of all four belts in the 168-pound weight class.

The American, with a record of 42-0, became the first boxer in history to win undisputed titles in three different weight classes.

Having risen from the 154-pound weight, Crawford became champion in five weight classes, starting his career at lightweight at 135 pounds.

Canelo, for the first time since 2018, left without titles but even without belts feels like a winner.

“Regardless of everything, I still feel like a champion,” he noted in the presence of his wife and daughter.
“Sometimes you need to accept defeat and take everything in. But I will continue.”

He is not yet ready to comment on his future plans in boxing as he wants to dedicate time to his newborn child.

“Today is an opportunity to learn. I am learning from this defeat and have not yet had the chance to think about the next steps or future.”
