Carl Froch is preparing for a boxing comeback

According to The Sun: Carl Froch plans to meet with his coach Rob McCracken to start preparing for his return to the ring against former UFC star Darren Till.

Recall that Froch retired in 2014, achieving a famous knockout victory over George Groves in front of 80,000 fans at Wembley Stadium.

However, the former world champion in the super middleweight division has become the target of several challenges from Darren Till, who has decided to switch to boxing. Till has signed a contract with Misfits, which organizes celebrity fights.

Froch has not stepped into the ring for over a decade, but he plans to start training with McCracken again.

On his YouTube channel, Froch shared his thoughts:

“I actually don’t want to box again, I don’t need it. I’ve been in the gym, obviously, I’ve been hitting the bag.”
“I’m going to meet Rob McCracken next week and start working with a heavy bag and on the pads. I feel great, I’m 48 years old.”

Froch added:

“I'm not feeling like a 48-year-old, I don’t drink or smoke. I lead a healthy lifestyle. Sometimes I might have a pint of Guinness or a shot of tequila, but I never get drunk and eat properly. So why not beat someone who talks a lot?”

Till has secured victories in all three of his fights in Misfits and, after knocking out former UFC champion Luke Rockhold in August, challenged Froch.

Meanwhile, Froch has been in talks with Mams Taylor, co-founder of Misfits, and promoter Kalle Sauerland. He is also actively involved with Eddie Hearn, who previously promoted Froch's career.

Froch's thoughts on a possible return

Froch, who is 48, noted in the presence of his wife Rachel:

“I don’t need to box, but it seems my wife supports me if I want to.”
“But I’m going to go to the gym, hit the bag, and meet McCracken next week.”

He also emphasized:

“I’m not making any decisions. Listen, Darren Till doesn't matter to me.”
“If the fight happens, Kalle Sauerland would like to do it since he promotes Misfits. I’ve spoken with Mams Taylor and Eddie Hearn.”

Froch summarized:

“Maybe I’ll understand when I’m in the gym and hit the bag a few times.”

Thus, Carl Froch's return to the ring after a decade-long break has become likely. Given the challenges from new players in boxing, such as Till, the dynamics of the sports scene may intensify. We will follow the developments around this fighter and his preparation for a possible fight.
