Russia strikes Kyiv with missiles: expert explains the purpose of the attack.
According to ТСН: Ukraine has not yet recovered from the tragedy in Ternopil, where 34 people died, when Russia dealt another powerful blow. On the night of November 24 to 25, Kyiv suffered numerous hits, including residential high-rise buildings. As a result of this attack, seven people died.
When will the war in Ukraine end
Military expert Oleg Zhdanov explained that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin uses massive strikes on Ukraine exclusively for political purposes. According to him, Ukrainians need to realize that the head of the Russian Federation will not stop until he implements his plan. It is worth preparing for the fact that the war in Ukraine may last for years.
“It is necessary to understand and, in my opinion, convey this thought to every Ukrainian, so that he can make a decision for himself: besides his own plan of complete capitulation of Ukraine or complete absorption of Ukraine - political, economic, financial - Putin will not stop and will not agree to any other option,” says Oleg Zhdanov.
If the Russian economy begins to "collapse," Putin may go for a freezing of the conflict:
“And, you see, he demands not at the line of combat confrontation, but wants at least to fulfill the primary task of the 'SMO' - to take the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in full. Every Ukrainian should understand this and decide for himself - to defend this country, to protect it, to stay in Ukraine, or to pack his bags and go somewhere. That’s what is most important.”
Oleg Zhdanov notes that Putin is trying to create conditions impossible to live in in Ukraine.
“And, secondly, he is terrorizing the civilian population. Seven hits in residential buildings in Kyiv, all direct hits. This is not the fall of debris from a downed 'Shahed' or a missile. And, most likely, the calculation was just like that, according to the theory of probability, that it would hit equally — bringing down the 'Shahed' to the lowest altitude, and in any case, it would hit some high-rise building. This is approximately the option I see, judging by today’s hits,” explains the military expert.
Russia's attack on Kyiv on November 25: what is special about it
Oleg Zhdanov draws attention to the fact that during the last attack, the Russian army used almost half as many strike drones compared to previous raids. Tonight, 15 drones attacked Kyiv, which targeted objects in a frontal attack.
“They encircled Kyiv, and then almost simultaneously attacked from different directions. Tonight, there were half as many — 15 drones, but they were going for a frontal attack on the targets. And note that all the missiles — 'Kinzhal', 'Iskander', drones — simultaneously began to attack their targets,” says the military expert.
Why Russia struck today: what Putin wants to show
Oleg Zhdanov emphasizes that the Russian army conducts massive strikes in line with certain political events.
“By the way, yesterday a statement was made from the Kremlin that the European plan is unfit and unconstitutional. Therefore, with this strike, Putin actually showed his 'fe' regarding the negotiations that took place in Geneva,” says the military expert.
It is also noted that before the attack, on the evening of November 24, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, warned of a possible strike and urged not to ignore air raid signals.
When might Russia launch the next strike
According to the expert, the Russian army is preparing a new batch of missiles for combat use in 10 days.
“I recall 2022-2023, when we calculated that 14 days were needed for reloading and preparing for the next strike. Today they are approximately fitting into the same period,” explains the military expert.
What will winter be like in Ukraine
Oleg Zhdanov believes that winter in Ukraine will be the same — with regular Russian strikes.
“Zelensky also stated that it will be a harsh winter or a loss of sovereignty. It will be so,” adds the military expert.
He emphasizes the need for weapon supplies to improve the situation.
“Judging by the last press conference, the missile is only undergoing testing and, at best, will be ready by the end of the year,” notes the expert.
It was also announced that a Ukrainian ballistic system from Fire Point with missiles that can pose a threat to Moscow was coming.
“The presence of ballistic missiles with a range of at least 500 km would be a panacea for us, because we could arrange such a hellish night for the residents of Moscow.,” he summarizes.
Considering the latest events in Ukraine, it becomes clear that the situation remains tense. The military expert notes that Russia's massive strikes accompany important political events, emphasizing the psychological pressure on Ukrainian society. Ukrainians must be prepared for a possible escalation of the conflict and constantly respond to threats.
