In 2018, the production of goods made from wood, paper, chemical products, and textile products in the region increased by various percentages. Energy generation is developing especially rapidly - three solar power plants are to be built in the Uman district of the region. The Kaniv hydroelectric power station is also located in the region.
Transport infrastructure and investments
The Cherkasy region is crossed by the international route M-05, which connects Kyiv and Odesa. The region has good road and rail connections. In addition, the nearest international airports are in Dnipro, Kyiv, and Odesa.
Among companies with foreign investments, 'Louis Dreyfus Company Ukraine' stands out. Important enterprises that have appeared in the region in recent years include grain and honey processing plants, as well as an asphalt concrete plant.
