The French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo mocked the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris by publishing a cartoon about the upcoming closing ceremony.

Olympic Games: the closing ceremony will be even more beautiful! – writes Charlie Hebdo.

Note that it is currently unknown what will be featured at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games, scheduled for August 11, reports Le Parisien.

According to L'Équipe, unlike the opening ceremony, which lasted over three hours with performances in various locations, the closing ceremony will take place indoors and will include performances by circus artists, acrobats, and even Parisian firefighters. The closing show will last about 40 minutes and will be titled «Records».

Recall that the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Paris took place on July 26 on the Seine and was held outside a stadium for the first Time in history.

During the performance, 18 actors sat at a long table, with a woman in a large silver headdress resembling a halo, as seen in images of Jesus, standing in the center. Then an improvised fashion show took place on stage, accompanied by dances. Later, a massive tray appeared on stage, on which lay a curled-up man painted in shiny blue.

Organizers stated that the performance was an «interpretation of the Greek god (of wine and festivity) Dionysus», intended to «show us the absurdity of violence between people».

Some did not like the show, accusing it of mocking Christianity. American boxer Ryan Garcia called for a boycott of the Olympics: «You cannot disrespect religion in front of millions of people. It is wrong that no one notices this».

It was also reported that announcers during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris made a mistake and introduced the South Korean team as the North Korean team. Because of this, South Korean authorities requested a personal meeting with the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach.
