The Norfolk club has announced modernization plans that will enhance and expand the stadium.

Stadium Expansion Plans

A new fan zone is planned behind the Barclay Stand.

Additionally, an application has been submitted for changes to the South Stand and the Regency Security Stand.

This will include new amenities and a separate entrance for away fans.

“From the beginning of the 2026/27 season, the club will implement a new stadium map. These changes will enhance the matchday experience for all visitors to Carrow Road.”

However, during the works, season ticket holders in the Regency Security Stand and part of the South Stand will have to change their seats.

According to estimates by the BBC, over 3,000 fans may be affected by these changes.

Communication with Fans

The club has already reached out to everyone who may be affected by these changes.

“The club fully understands that relocating to a new seat will be a significant change for some of our long-term season ticket holders.”

The final stage of the planned works will be the reconstruction of the City Stand.

However, the BBC reports that this will only happen if the club remains in the Premier League.

At present, Norwich is in 19th place in the Championship after an unstable start to the season.

The team has won only two of eight matches ahead of the East Anglian derby against Ipswich.

The club's plans reflect a desire to improve conditions for fans and learn from the mistakes of last season. The stadium expansion is an important step in the development of Norwich City, which will help attract more fans and improve the overall level of comfort for match attendees. At the same time, the changes may pose a challenge for loyal supporters who are accustomed to their seats in the stadium.
