Chelsea and Liverpool battle for Olise: transfer fee reaches £87 million.
The Battle for Olise
According to The Sun: It is quite likely that Chelsea and Liverpool will compete for Bayer striker Michael Olise in next year's summer transfer window.
Olise joined the German club from Crystal Palace last year and immediately made a name for himself in the Bundesliga.
The TimesIn his first season, he scored 20 goals and provided 17 assists, helping the team clinch the title.
The 23-year-old player had three successful years at Crystal Palace, attracting attention in the Premier League, before moving under the guidance of Vincent Kompany to Germany.
Now Olise is wanted back in England, with Liverpool leading the race for the Frenchman.
The German publication Bild reports that the “Reds” plan to sign the player for a significant amount next year, considering him a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.
However, they will have to contend with Chelsea, who regret not trying to sign him when they had the chance.
Manchester City is also monitoring the player's progress.
Previously, Manchester United showed strong interest in Olise, but likely withdrew from the race due to poor results under Ruben Amorim.
Any club that wants to acquire Olise will have to shell out a huge sum — his value has risen to £87 million.
Liverpool's Expenditure
Liverpool has shown a willingness to spend money, investing over £400 million this summer.
They signed players like Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak, with the latter costing a British league-record £125 million.
Bayer is likely to be cautious, having recently suffered defeat to Liverpool in the race for Wirtz, but still hopes to convince Olise to stay.
Reportedly, the club plans to extend the player's contract until 2031 and offer him a significant salary increase to ward off interest from other teams.
Olise is having an incredible season, already scoring four goals and providing four assists in all competitions.

Bayer's management emphasizes how highly they value Olise. Max Eberl recently noted that he can “shape the future of this team.”
“Michael has already made a great impression in his first season. He is a player who attracts fans to the stadium; it is just a pleasure to watch him play football.'
“He still has more than three and a half years left on his contract, and he will become an increasingly decisive factor in FC Bayern's game and shape the future of this team – the longer, the better.”
It should be noted that the fight for the player will actively develop, as several top clubs show interest in him. Olise currently has every chance to continue his successful career at the highest level, and his performances in the Bundesliga confirm these hopes. All competing participants must be prepared for serious expenses if they plan to sign him to their squad.President Herbert Hainer also noted him as 'a person who has reached the top of the elite.'
“A year ago, Michael Olise was still relatively unknown; today the whole world knows him.
“Signing him turned out to be a real success, and he quickly moved into the international elite at FC Bayern.
“He is one of the faces of the new FC Bayern, and we hope he remains such for a long time.”
