According to The Sun: Chelsea player Cole Palmer will not be able to take the field until after the next international break. This was announced by the team's head coach Enzo Maresca.

The 23-year-old Palmer has groin issues that began in just the second game of the season.

Chelsea's star has only played a full 90 minutes in the league this season, struggling with injury.

It should be noted that he was substituted in the 18th minute of the last match, where Chelsea lost to Manchester United 2-1.

Maresca confirmed that he made the decision not to take risks and to give Palmer enough time to recover.

“We decided to protect Cole from aggravating his injury. We plan to give him a rest for the next two to three weeks until the international break, so he can come back 100% fit.”

This news came as an unpleasant surprise for Chelsea fans, as Palmer will miss matches against Brighton and Liverpool in the Premier League, as well as the game against Benfica in the Champions League.

This is also disappointing for Thomas Tuchel, as he likely will not be able to count on Palmer in England's matches against Wales and Latvia during the next international break.

Earlier, Palmer missed the September international break due to injury, which saw the team lose its wins against Andorra and Serbia.

Fortunately, according to Maresca, the injury will not require surgery and should be temporary.

“I don't think he needs surgery. It's a matter of managing pain in the groin, as this can happen with so many games.”

Meanwhile, Tosin Adarabioyo has also suffered a new injury and will miss matches until the international break.

Maresca explained: “We had issues with Tosin, and he likely will also miss the international break. He has a minor problem with his calf.”

Chelsea is already without other key players like Levi Colwill and Liam Delap due to injuries this season.

“At this moment, for various reasons, we are having problems. Out of eight players, we have seven or eight who are out. Is this a consequence of last season? I don’t know.”

Palmer's absence from Chelsea's squad and his involvement in national team matches will significantly impact the team during an unfavorable period. Fans hope for a swift recovery for the player, as his talent and play could be crucial in the league's tight race. The team is already feeling the lack of its best performers, complicating their performances in upcoming matches.
