According to ТСН: In Ukraine, there are no plans for a sharp increase in internet prices. If tariff rates change, it will be insignificant for most of the population.

Cybersecurity expert Konstantin Korsun noted that price changes could occur within the limits of inflation, but he did not provide specific figures or timelines. Each provider will make decisions independently.

“If there is any price increase, it will be hardly noticeable for most. This depends on the overall economic situation in the country. This is each provider's decision. Some provider will decide not to raise prices at all; they will keep prices as low as possible,”

the expert emphasized. He also added that business regulators are taking a strange position, as instead of easing the conditions for providers, they are tightening them.

New Quality Service Requirements

A new law No. 4670, which establishes strict requirements for the quality of mobile internet, will soon come into effect. It obliges providers to ensure 100 hours of network autonomy during blackouts and speeds of up to 100 Megabits per second.

According to information, the new law may lead to a significant increase in prices, as the new speed standards significantly complicate the provision of services. Experts predict that with increased control, the cost of internet may rise to European levels — 2000-3000 hryvnias per month (currently tariffs range around 200-300 hryvnias).

It is also worth noting that on November 25, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed Law No. 4670-IX, which is an important step towards ensuring quality and fast internet for all Ukrainians, regardless of their place of residence.

This law may significantly change the situation in the internet services market in Ukraine. Although providers have time to adapt before it is implemented, reducing tariffs or improving service quality may depend on their ability to cope with new requirements. Whether this will hinder access to the internet for some population segments is a question that will require assessment by regulators and the government.
