A healer was detained in Kyiv for robbing people: she faces 10 years.
According to ТСН: The police in Kyiv detained a "healer" who stole 10 thousand hryvnias from two people in the Shevchenkivskyi district. She could face up to 10 years in prison.
The law enforcement officers apprehended a 48-year-old local resident with a criminal record, suspecting her of two robberies that occurred in October and November.
The criminal's methods
In one case, the woman approached a Kyiv resident on the street and asked to borrow 100 hryvnias. When the victim opened her wallet, the perpetrator quickly stole 6000 hryvnias and began distracting her by asking to conduct a "healing ritual".
In another case, the woman convinced a man that there were serious problems in his family and that his close relatives were seriously ill. She promised to help for a certain fee and took 4000 hryvnias from him. When the man realized he had been scammed and demanded his money back, the woman refused and tried to flee.
The investigation
The law enforcement officers detained the woman and seized the stolen money. The investigators charged her with robbery and attempted robbery committed during martial law. The pre-trial investigation has been completed, and the indictment has already been sent to court. The perpetrator faces up to 10 years in prison.
It is also worth noting that earlier, the Kyiv police, together with the cyber police, detained a 28-year-old man who posed as a "molfar" and "healer" through fake accounts. He promised his clients to "remove the curse" or find missing relatives, charging them between 400 to 4500 hryvnias for his services. After receiving the money to his card, the fraudster blocked his victims.
This case highlights how important it is to be cautious and not to trust strangers. Crimes of this type are unfortunately not uncommon, and law enforcement continues to take action to prevent similar frauds in the future. Stay alert and always verify information, especially when it comes to financial matters.
