Why Swedish Combat Boats 90 are Important for Ukraine: An Intelligence Explanation.
Swedish CB90 Combat Boats Enhance the Capabilities of Ukrainian Special Forces
As part of defense assistance, Sweden has provided Combat Boats 90 to Ukraine, significantly expanding the capabilities of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense. This information was reported by GUR.
According to GUR representatives, the boats are actively used for reconnaissance, logistical support, troop deployment, and supporting strategically important operations, including on Snake Island. The speed, maneuverability, and compactness of the CB90 boats make them a key element in special maritime operations.
The design of the Swedish boats ensures reliability, speed, and safety even in extreme conditions. The boat can carry up to 21 soldiers with full gear and up to 4.5 tons of cargo.
The boat manufacturer, Saab, has developed new combat modules for the CB90 with remote control and enhanced protection.
"As part of the next support package, the Swedish government has planned to equip Ukrainian boats with such systems, as well as integrate radars for monitoring the maritime and aerial space," GUR added.
Earlier, GUR head Kyrylo Budanov spoke about how naval drones shot down two Su-30s.
