Egg prices have risen: where to buy cheaper and which chains have increased prices.
Prices for chicken eggs have changed in supermarkets. Several popular chains have raised the price of the product, so consumers will now have to pay more for packaging. However, there is a possibility to save by buying eggs individually, but not all stores offer this.
How much do chicken eggs cost
According to the Ministry of Finance, the average price of a carton of category C1 eggs ranges from 67.90 to 73.53 UAH. However, the minimum prices in supermarkets are much lower, so one can look for more favorable offers.
The most advantageous place to buy chicken eggs is in the Varus chain, where the price difference from the national average is 14.10 UAH per carton. This money can be spent on other necessary goods.
What is the price of loose eggs
In some stores, eggs are sold individually. For example, in the Varus chain, prices for category C2 eggs are 3.99 UAH each, and a dozen will cost 39.99 UAH. In other supermarkets, the prices are as follows:
- Fora — 4.89 UAH each;
- Novus — 4.99 UAH each;
- MegaMarket — 5.90 UAH each.
According to the State Statistics Service, over the year, prices for chicken eggs have increased by 82.4%, but in the monthly dimension, the increase was only 1.5%. Experts predict that prices for eggs may decrease if there is a high corn harvest (which is used in chicken feed).
What else Ukrainians should know
Ukrainians can save on grocery shopping by following discounts and promotions in supermarkets. It is also worth considering that prices for cucumbers have risen due to stable demand and a decrease in supply in the market, but the appearance of greenhouse cucumbers may change the situation.
It is important for Ukrainians to pay attention to the pricing policies of supermarkets to find better buying conditions for chicken eggs. Careful selection can help save money and purchase quality products at an affordable price.
