Prices for zucchini — how much to pay for 1 kg of vegetable in July.
Zucchini is one of the most popular vegetables on the shelves of stores and markets. The first fruits appear for sale in late spring and remain in demand almost until late autumn.
Where to buy zucchini cheaper in July
Almost every supermarket in the capital has fresh zucchini grown by Ukrainian farmers in open ground on July 8, 2025. However, prices for the vegetable vary significantly depending on the retail chain.
The cheapest offer today is in Novus stores — 19.99 UAH/kg.
Farmers who planted zucchini, potatoes, and beetroots estimate their losses at 10-20%. Although this is not a disaster, the overall picture in the food market looks pessimistic.
These circumstances will lead to a decrease in supply, and consequently — to an increase in prices even for traditionally affordable vegetables. In particular, experts expect an increase in zucchini prices by autumn.
What to expect from zucchini prices
At the beginning of summer, the director of the Lviv Department of Agribusiness Development, Lyudmila Goncharenko, told OBOZ.UA that even if seasonal products, including zucchini, are sold a bit cheaper during the peak harvesting period, prices will still remain high compared to previous years. This is because the final price formation is influenced not only by weather conditions but also by costs for:
- energy resources;
- protective agents and agrochemicals;
- wages;
- fuel;
- antistress agents for plants used after frost.
