Cole Palmer watched the youth team's match

According to The Sun: Cole Palmer decided to remain unnoticed as he watched the youth team of Chelsea win their Europa League match against Benfica on Tuesday.

The English footballer couldn't participate in the first team game due to injury, so he opted to support the new generation of players on the training field in Cobham.

He spent Tuesday watching the young Chelsea players against Benfica

At the end of the field, Palmer was spotted wearing Chelsea colors, but he tried not to draw attention.

In black clothing with a hood, the young footballer did not look like he was ready to appear in public.

Later, the 23-year-old player was seen at Stamford Bridge next to injured teammate Tosin Adarabioyo as the team prepared to face Jose Mourinho.

Palmer was able to witness the youth team's bright performance as they confidently won 5-2 in their second group stage game.

A hat-trick from 17-year-old Shumi Meuki helped Chelsea start their winning path, along with goals from 17-year-old Kobe Barbour and 16-year-old Ryan Kavuma-McQueen.

After the match, Palmer sent a message to 15-year-old Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli, who became the youngest Chelsea player to step onto the field in this prestigious campaign.

Marcel Cucurella also shared his impressions on Instagram, congratulating Meuki on receiving the man-of-the-match ball.

Meuki wrote:

“I break the rules! 3 goals and 1 assist against Benfica in uyl! [blue heart]”

Cucurella reacted:

“Great job [waving hand emoji]”

Both Meuki and Nicoll-Jazuli represent England at the age group level and already play above their peers.

Meuki already played several matches for the Maersk team last season and has started the current season strongly, scoring a second hat-trick.

The youth team also successfully won their first group stage game last week, beating Bayern, unlike the senior team.

It is also worth noting that Palmer will miss about three weeks due to a groin injury that has bothered him since the summer.
