In the Khmelnytskyi region, a man was convicted for evading military service during mobilization. The man did not respond to the combat call-up and received a punishment, reported the Khmelnytskyi regional prosecutor's office.
After he was recognized as fit for military service during the medical examination, this man decided simply to refuse and did not appear for the draft. He did not visit the military commissariat even once on the day he was told to.
Recently, this man had time to reflect on his misdeeds and was in prison for five years but pleaded for a conditional term.

The court took into account past offenses and sentenced the man to 5.5 years of imprisonment. However, the verdict is not final and can be appealed. Problems also arose in Lviv region with village council heads who did not comply with the mobilization plan.
