Russia Wants Negotiations Due to the Threat of Defeat: Analyst Named the Reasons.
According to ТСН: Military analyst Taras Chmut expressed his opinion on the possible negotiations with Russia regarding the war in Ukraine.
In his interview, he noted:
“Yes, Russia wants negotiations. It understands that if processes do not begin, the country may find itself in irreversible situations and have a chance of losing the war.”.
Factors Influencing the Decision
Chmut explained that several factors influence this position, including:
- sanctions,
- Ukrainian strikes on military infrastructure,
- destruction of equipment,
- difficulties in conducting an offensive war against a people that is actively defending itself.
The analyst also emphasized that mobilization in Russia continues, but it is becoming increasingly difficult each year.
Discussion of Possible Concessions
Chmut added that the current situation prompts discussions about the conditions for possible concessions and political maneuvers by Russia.
Among other things, CNN analysts noted earlier that negotiations in Florida could strengthen Putin's position, drawing attention to Trump's rhetoric during his meeting with Zelensky, which could be advantageous for Moscow.
Overall, Taras Chmut's opinion reflects the complex realities facing Russia on the front line. The continuation of mobilization and military actions, as well as the impact of sanctions, create a backdrop against which negotiations may become a relevant option if the country seeks to avoid catastrophic consequences of the war.
