Meta announced changes to its content moderation policy. They will be ending the fact-checking program and instead will rely on users to add notes to posts with potentially false information. This system is already used by Twitter under the name Community Notes. CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that the changes will be implemented in the coming months in the USA.

Joel Kaplan, the newly appointed head of global policy at Meta, speaking on Fox & Friends, mentioned 'extreme political bias' in the fact-checking program.

Zuckerberg acknowledged that this decision may lead to an increase in 'bad content' on the platform, but called it a 'compromise' to avoid the accidental blocking of legitimate posts.

Additionally, Meta announced the relocation of the content moderation team from California to Texas and the easing of restrictions regarding immigration and gender identity topics.
