The chain is well known for its fusion tacos such as Spicy Tikka Chicken and Fish ‘n Chips, as well as its popular red velvet pie.

The Spicy Tikka Chicken taco features crispy chicken thighs, homemade spicy tikka sauce, melted coriander basmati, raita cream, and Thai basil.

Fish ‘n Chips taco consists of battered fish sticks, curry aioli, fries, malt vinegar, and Napa cabbage slaw.

Velvet Taco also offers weekly menu updates known as WTF (Weekly Taco Features) that include new flavors from various cultures.

Customers actively praise the locations in the US, with one reviewer stating:

“This place is absolutely the best for creative, tasty, and unique tacos!”

Another added that they have

“some of the BEST tacos you will find anywhere!!!”

A third noted:

“I heard great things – and it definitely lived up to the hype.”

The brand started its operations in Dallas, Texas, in 2011 and has grown to over 50 locations across the country.

The new restaurant in London will be the first location outside the US.

The restaurant will also offer a bar featuring classic drinks, including Velvet Taco’s signature Kick Ass Margarita.

The opening was initially planned for spring, but the timeline has been pushed back. In the US, the location typically stays open late, while the UK restaurant will close much earlier.

Hours of operation: Monday to Wednesday – 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Thursday to Saturday – 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, and Sunday – 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Velvet Taco's CEO, Clay Dover, noted:

“Opening our first restaurant in the UK in the heart of London is the perfect way to kick off our global expansion.”

“Velvet Taco's menu is inspired by flavors from around the world, so London, known for its international cuisine, was a natural choice for our first location outside the US.”

“We have always drawn inspiration from British flavors and incorporated them into our menu, so our global debut in London is a very symbolic moment.”

“We cannot wait for the British to try our bold and unexpected tacos that are launching in November!”
