A Father Convicted for the Murder of His Daughter
A father who fled justice was sentenced to thirty years in prison for the brutal murder of his own daughter in an act of 'honor revenge'. Kaled al Najjar, 53, disappeared from the country just a few hours after committing the crime against his 18-year-old daughter Ryan along with his sons, Mohamed (23) and Muhanad (25).“I did it to protect my family's honor,”he stated during the trial.This case sparked serious outrage in society due to the brutality of the murder, as the father accused his daughter of betrayal. Given the seriousness of this crime, the court ruled that the perpetrator must bear responsibility for his actions.The murder of Ryan has become a vivid example of the existing societal issues related to honor and tradition.
