Luis Diaz's condition affected Liverpool's form

According to The Sun: DANIEL STURRIDGE believes that Liverpool's form has suffered following the sale of Luis Diaz.

The former Anfield striker noted that the Colombian's departure became an issue when Arne Slot's team lost 2-1 to Chelsea on Saturday. This result deprived Liverpool of the top spot in the Premier League, yielding it to Arsenal.

Sturridge, commenting on Sky Sports, pointed to the sale of Diaz to Bayern Munich in the summer for 65 million pounds as a source of concern.

Meanwhile, Diaz is showing great form in Germany: he has scored five goals and provided four assists in six matches in the Bundesliga. Sturridge emphasized that the absence of this winger negatively affects Liverpool.

“Luis Diaz is a massive miss for them.”

“When we look at Liverpool from last year and how they pressed, he was the one who set the tone at the front.”

“Szoboszlai does a similar job in midfield with his power and dynamism but Diaz brought something unique up top.”

Diaz, known for his tireless work ethic, received praise not only for his goals but also for his active participation in off-the-ball play, something Liverpool is currently in dire need of.

“He was tenacious.”

“Off the ball, always trying to win it back, always pressing high. He made things happen even when he didn’t have the ball.”

Sturridge compared Diaz to strikers Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike, noting that the former does his defensive work, but Diaz went further.

“Ekitike and Isak do their bit defensively. But Diaz? He sacrificed himself more. He gave up personal glory for the team.”

The British expert believes that Liverpool's attack lacks a key player who is ready to do the hard work like Diaz did.

“In a front three, someone’s got to be the workhorse.”

“You need balance: one for work, one for creation, one for finishing. Right now, I don’t think Slot knows who is with whom.”

The former striker warned that if Slot cannot find the right balance, Liverpool may face difficulties in their pursuit of all titles this season.
