Van der Voort on the player with the lowest average in tournament history: The guy is struggling.
Cameron Menzies needs help, says Vincent van der Voort
According to The Sun: Vincent van der Voort has urged Cameron Menzies to seek help, as he believes the Scot is 'going through difficulties' both on the field and in his personal life.
Menzies, who is currently ranked 33rd in the world, stunned everyone by winning 6-3 against compatriot Peter Wright in the first round of the World Series finals. However, after losing 6-1 to Chris Dobey in the second round, he set the lowest average in tournament history – just 66.85, indicating serious problems.
GettyVan der Voort is convinced that Menzies' problems extend beyond just darts. He noted:
“I heard that he spoke to someone from the organization after that match and about everything that is happening in his life. The guy is struggling. He needs guidance and routine. But that stability is just not there. You can see that he is struggling psychologically.”
However, Menzies has already shown his potential by winning Players Championship 11 in April this year. He has also reached two more finals in other competitions. However, the 36-year-old athlete is experiencing a dip in form: this season he has failed to reach the quarter-finals in any of the five majors he participated in.
This summer, SunSport reported that Menzies split from his girlfriend Fallon Sherrock. The couple met while participating in an online darts league, playing as a duo, and were together for four years before the breakup.

Menzies' situation is causing concern among his fans and experts. Issues not only with his form on the field but also in his personal life suggest that there may be serious psychological challenges that require attention and support. How he overcomes these difficulties will be a crucial moment not just for his career but also for his personal well-being.
It is important that modern athletes always have support from colleagues, coaches, and psychotherapists, as their psychological resilience affects their results in professional sports. Whether Menzies can find this support and return to high achievements remains to be seen.
