Darts Player Ryan Searle: Victory at the Tournament and an Unusual Incident in Leicester.
Unexpected Events After the Victory
According to The Sun: Ryan Searle recounted a funny incident after his victory at the recent Players Championship.
Claiming his second title this year, he defeated Mario Vandenbogaerde with a score of 8-6 in the finals at the Mattioli Arena last week.
GettyAfter celebrating his victory, the situation unexpectedly changed. Half an hour later, as Searle enjoyed fried chicken in central Leicester, he had a humorous moment.
Former professional Matt Edgar shared a behind-the-scenes story of life on the ProTour during the Mission Darts podcast:
“Let’s start from the first day. Ryan Searle wins the tournament. As we know, Ryan is a good friend. After the tournament, I finished commenting and went out to dinner with him.”
Edgar continued his story about how things unfolded as they tried to have lunch at one of the restaurants:
“Yes, Ryan made an order at the kiosk, but the terminal didn’t work, and all the machines were turned off. So we decided to go to another place.”
Then they strolled through the city center, encountering people asking for money:
“We continued moving toward another chicken restaurant.”
When they finally returned to the hotel, the situation escalated:
“Ryan notices a group of people asking for money on the left, and when he walks to the right side, someone passes by and lets out a fart.”
Edgar added:
“So Ryan thought, ‘God, I just won at ProTour, and now I’m eating fried chicken and getting gassed in the center of Leicester.’”
Despite these awkward moments, Searle already has seven PDC titles but is still striving for his first major victory.
On Tuesday, he will be back on stage at the World Grand Prix, where he will meet Gerwyn Price.
