DBR revealed the scheme of illegal transportation across the border: a soldier arrested.
According to inkorr.com: The State Bureau of Investigation completed the preliminary investigation in the case of a serviceman from Kyiv and his accomplice from Kharkiv, who organized the illegal transportation of conscripts across the border.
'The resident of Kharkiv was looking for people who wanted to leave the country with several thousand dollars in their pockets. He promised a comfortable trip across the border in special transport, confidently advertising his 'right connections' in advance. After receiving the money, he planned to keep part of it for himself and pass the rest to the serviceman who acted as the 'transporter'', - the DBR's statement noted.
According to the investigation, the serviceman abused his official position to ensure unhindered passage through border checkpoints in a vehicle with special signals.
'In May 2025, at a gas station in Kharkiv, illegal migrants handed over money to the suspects, leaving a bag with 50 thousand dollars on the car seat. Soon after, DBR agents arrested the serviceman and his accomplice', - the official statement said.
Both suspects have been charged with the illegal transportation of persons across the state border as part of an organized criminal group (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to this article, they face imprisonment for up to 9 years.
The materials of the case have already been submitted to the court for further consideration.
The case regarding the organization of illegal transportation across the border, which arose as a result of cooperation between the serviceman and his accomplice from Kharkiv, highlights a serious threat to national security. If proven guilty, the suspects face a significant prison term, indicating the tough stance of Ukrainian law enforcement in combating crime in this area.
