Salaries in the agricultural sector have increased by 20-28%: which professions have become the highest paid.
In Ukraine's agriculture, an increase in average salaries has been recorded over the past year. Some key professions can boast an increase of 20% to 28%. The demand for workers remains consistently high, especially during the season, according to the research company OLX Work.
Who earns higher salaries
According to median salary analysis, in July 2025, growth occurred almost in all key agricultural professions compared to the same period in 2024:
- tractors drivers — from 25,000 UAH to 30,000 UAH (+20%);
- sawyers — from 23,500 UAH to 30,000 UAH (+28%);
- agronomers — from 24,000 UAH to 25,000 UAH (+4%);
- other professions in the agricultural sector — from 19,000 UAH to 20,000 UAH (+5%).
The average salary growth rate on a yearly basis is 15%. The demand for vacancies among workers remains high. In July 2025, 23 people applied for one vacant position, compared to 20 people a year ago. The maximum popularity of vacancies is observed in the height of the season when the greatest demand is for tractor drivers, while the most popular profession among workers is agronomist.
Another trend this year is the increase in the number of vacancies with reservations. Over the year, the share of such offers from employers on OLX has increased by 6.2 times. For example, in the category 'Agriculture and Forestry', the growth was from 1% to 7% among all advertisements.
“The agricultural sector, especially agriculture, remains an important area in the labor market. The growth of salaries and consistently high demand for workers are signs of healthy competition in the market,” noted the researchers.
What else Ukrainians should know
Trade unions plan to raise the living wage to 8,620 UAH and the minimum wage to 12,190 UAH by 2026, as well as demand automatic indexations when prices or salaries rise.
Experts believe that for Ukrainians in 2025, an acceptable financial cushion is from 3 to 6 salaries, which is sufficient to cover basic needs during a crisis.
The statistics indicate a growth in average salaries in Ukraine's agriculture, particularly in key agricultural professions. The demand for workers remains high, indicating healthy competition in the labor market. Trade unions already have plans to raise the living wage and minimum salary in the future to improve the conditions for Ukrainian workers.
