According to Novyny.live: On June 6, Ukraine marks Journalist Day against the backdrop of devastating casualties within its media community. Since the start of Russia’s full-scale assault, at least 150 journalists have lost their lives. This grim figure highlights the extreme danger media professionals face while covering the conflict.
Breakdown of Fatalities Among Journalists
A closer look at the losses reveals a staggering toll. At least 21 media workers died while reporting from the front lines, carrying out their duties amid active combat. Another 10 were killed by shelling in rear cities, underscoring how perilous journalism can be even away from direct fighting. In total, 119 media employees have perished on the battlefield, reflecting the severe risks this profession endures during armed conflict.
