Ukraine’s Needs Fully Met Thanks to Allies, Lawmaker Papiyev Says.
Lawmaker Mykhailo Papiyev Highlights International Aid and Economic Recovery
According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian parliament member Mykhailo Papiyev has stated that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is meeting the country’s needs through foreign support. Speaking before the Verkhovna Rada, he underscored how critical international assistance is for Ukraine during wartime. Papiyev stressed that currently there are no funding shortfalls for the Armed Forces of Ukraine or the social sector.
He noted that despite the absence of financial difficulties, the government is not adequately preparing for post-war economic recovery.
'One would think the government could fulfill its duties, but they are not doing so' - Mykhailo Papiyev. It is also worth noting that the Prime Minister of Ukraine has committed to completing current road repairs by June 1, which Papiyev considers an important aspect of maintaining the country’s infrastructure.
Ukraine’s Wartime Priorities
President Zelenskyy, for his part, emphasized that Ukrainians are needed by their country now and always. Additionally, Ukraine continues negotiations with international partners to strengthen its air defense system, a key concern given current challenges. Thus, meeting the nation’s needs remains a priority, but economic recovery requires greater attention from the government.
Papiyev’s remarks reflect the complex situation Ukraine faces during the war. Beyond the need for international aid to sustain defense capabilities, it is also crucial to focus on rebuilding the economy—something that could prove vital for the country’s stability once hostilities end. The Prime Minister and government must work more actively on a recovery strategy to ensure long-term growth and development alongside infrastructure restoration.
