Children Aged 13 to 17: How Russians Are Using Teenagers for Diversions.
Children in Ukraine are increasingly becoming victims of recruitment by Russian agents for diversionary actions. According to the police, this year alone, 62 cases of diversions involving children aged 13 to 17 have been recorded. Another 70 children have faced attempts at recruitment. These numbers are indicative of a scenario that could have serious consequences for the country's future.
'This year we have recorded 65 cases of criminal offenses of a diversionary nature involving 62 children aged 13 to 17. These are not just numbers; they are tragedies that could have been avoided,' emphasizes Bohdan.
Prevention of Recruitment Among Children
The main motivation for children, according to the head of juvenile police, is financial reasons and a desire for self-affirmation. Preventive work with teenagers is crucial, carried out by the police. They conduct educational activities in schools, explaining to children the consequences of recruitment and incitement to diversionary actions. The aim is for teenagers to understand the danger, realize their responsibility, and be able to prevent a crime before it happens.
Children from Ukrainian schools fall under the influence of Russian agents who try to engage them in diversionary actions. The police are already taking measures to identify and prevent this phenomenon and are also conducting preventive work among children, explaining to them the dangers and consequences of recruitment.Read also
