Star Note: How Unusual Banknotes Can Bring Profit.

According to ТСН: In Ukraine, you can come across unusual dollar bills with a star next to the serial number. Although they do not differ from regular banknotes, they can bring some profit.

These American dollar bills are in circulation. As noted by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing of the USA, even with the use of modern technologies, the likelihood of problems during printing remains.

When a banknote has a defect, it is replaced. For this reason, since the serial number cannot be repeated, a special marker—a star—is added. This symbol indicates that the banknote replaced another, damaged during production.

Although this feature does not affect the nominal value, it is possible to sell the bill to collectors for a higher price than simply exchanging it at the bank.

The star next to the serial number is not the only characteristic that increases the value of American currency for collectors in Ukraine. Other important features include interesting combinations of numbers, such as repeating digits, alternating or mirrored patterns, and the presence of several consecutive zeros.

It should be noted that there are dollars that cannot be exchanged in Ukraine. This applies to specific denominations, as well as banknotes that are in a certain physical condition. For example, in the USA, banknotes were issued in denominations significantly exceeding the usual 100 dollars—bills of 500, 1,000, 5,000, and even 10,000 dollars.

This situation makes the acquaintance with collectible banknotes especially interesting for collecting and investing. Especially for those who are interested in currency and want to learn more about rare specimens that can become a real find.
