Scott Williams on Critics: 'I am crazy, and I will not change'.
Scott Williams Responds to Critics
According to The Sun: Scott Williams, a 35-year-old player known on the PDC Tour, commented on criticism of his performances that elicited mixed reactions from dart fans. He stated that he does not plan to change his style.
GettyWhen asked if the criticism from detractors affects him, Williams replied:
'Not at all. They are not doing what I do, so it’s not their problem. I’m really a crazy guy, a joker. On stage, I play it up a bit more, but backstage, I’m completely out of place. I won't change. People either love me for it or not – that’s okay. I don’t care. If they don’t like it, they can just switch off. Please feel free to take your leave and do what you want.'
This year he reached the semifinals of the Darts World Championship but lost to Luke Humphries. The player, who was eliminated in the third round last year, plans to make a comeback in the coming months.
Williams added:
'I would like to believe that. I have the talent. It depends on what you do on the day, on the preparation, and on how the darts fly.'
When he spoke about his inconsistency, he noted:
'Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Last week I lost in the first round to Mensah Solovich; the next day I reached a semifinal. It’s sometimes a backward game.'
Williams also emphasized the recent changes in his equipment, using different flights and points, which helped him achieve greater consistency in his game. He expressed hope for successful months:
'I am satisfied with the way my game is running.'id='6380190254112' data-video-id='6380190254112' data-account='5067014667001' data-player='default' data-usage='cms:WordPress:6.5.7:2.8.6:javascript' data-embed='default' class='video-js' data-application-id='' controls style='width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute; top: 0; bottom: 0; right: 0; left: 0;'>
