Second pension in Ukraine: who has been allowed to receive double payments from 2025.
The state social protection system of Ukraine provides various additional payments for citizens, with special attention to persons with disabilities and their caregivers. This is reported by the Department of Social Protection of the Population.
'The state ensures comprehensive support for citizens with disabilities from childhood and minors with disabilities through the state social assistance system and additional care allowances,' the agency notes.
The system of social payments covers various categories of citizens, including caregivers of disabled persons, single disabled individuals, and parents of children with disabilities who are on maternity leave or unemployed.
The amount of payments depends on the category of the recipient. The largest payments are intended for disabled individuals in group I subgroup A, as well as for children aged 6 to 18 years with an additional allowance. Caregivers of disabled individuals may also receive an additional pension depending on the family composition.
The conditions for receiving a pension have also changed. Now, to receive a pension at the age of 60, one must have at least 32 years of experience. Those with less experience are given the opportunity to retire at the age of 63 or 65.
It is worth noting that by 2028, an increase in the minimum insurance period for receiving a pension at the age of 60 to 35 years is planned.
New coefficients for some pensions have also been introduced, which may lead to a reduction in payments of up to 90%.
