Ukrainians warned about new bread prices — reasons for the increase.
In 2025, Ukrainians will face rising prices for bakery products. It is projected that prices in stores will jump by at least 25%. This was reported in the material of Novyny.LIVE.
Why bread will become more expensive
According to the head of the Union of Ukrainian Peasantry Ivan Tomych, this year's wheat harvest will be the lowest in the last 10 years. Although there will be no shortage of flour and bakery products in the domestic market, bread prices will rise due to reduced harvests. Ivan Tomych noted that overall bread prices could increase by 25%.
He also emphasized that the Ukrainian country will have enough food wheat. This means that Ukrainians will have enough flour, bread, and other flour products.
What else is worth knowing
The deputy head of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council, Denys Marchuk, explained that Ukrainian farmers grow more grain than necessary for domestic consumption. This allows the country to export grain surpluses.
The agricultural sector is a major source of foreign currency inflows for Ukraine, as 65% of the country's exports come from agricultural products. The increase in grain prices in Ukraine may be caused by several reasons, including full-scale war, inflation, and a shortage of workers on agricultural enterprises.
The mentioned forecasts confirm the deterioration of conditions for wheat cultivation and indicate a possible rise in prices for bakery products due to a shortage of ingredient harvests. Ukrainians should prepare for higher food prices in the near future.
