The captain activated the alarm after receiving a message about the passenger's deteriorating condition.

The cause of the passenger's death has not yet been determined.
The easyJet airline expressed its condolences:

They also stated:
"Our thoughts are with the passenger's family and friends, and we are providing them with full support and assistance during this difficult time. The safety and well-being of our passengers and crew is always the top priority of easyJet."
The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday on the flight from Nantes to Lanzarote.
According to local media, the emergency occurred on flight EJU4775.
The return of the aircraft was delayed due to this situation.
Flight delay and history of another tragedy
The scheduled landing time was at 14:45 in Loire-Atlantique, but the plane landed eight hours later, around 23:00.
This event occurred after another man died on board an easyJet flight heading to London in November 2022.
That plane was in the air from Cyprus to Gatwick airport when a man, about 50 years old, felt unwell during the flight.
Endless attempts to resuscitate the passenger using a defibrillator unfortunately were unsuccessful.
Flight EZY8454 consisted mainly of travelers returning from a winter holiday in 24°C Paphos.
The plane took off from the Greek island at 14:20 local time, but the alarm about the man's condition broke out around 15:40 Greenwich Mean Time.
Witnesses reported that the man appeared to be traveling alone and could not be awakened.
Passengers were delayed upon landing at Gatwick so that medics could board and confirm the man’s death.
ReutersThese tragic incidents highlight the importance of crew readiness for medical emergencies during flights. Airlines usually take all necessary measures to ensure passenger safety, but sometimes circumstances prove to be unpredictable. The aircraft delayed due to the incident caused concern among all travelers, as delays among others could be related to long investigations.
