Nine other city council officials and municipal enterprise employees also received suspicions.

'On September 30, nine people died in Odesa. The blame lies not with a natural disaster but with the official negligence of officials,' Kravchenko wrote on social media. He emphasized: 'This is not about carelessness; this is about criminal negligence that led to the deaths of people.'

The prosecutor's office noted that the tragedy was a result of official negligence by an employee who had held his position for a long time and was aware of the situation in the city but took no measures to improve it. All suspects face up to 8 years in prison.
