Expert: New Cold War - the Best Scenario for Europe.
Expert believes 'Cold War' is the optimal scenario
According to inkorr.com: Fredrik Reinfeldt, director of the Stockholm Center for East European Studies, believes that if relations with Russia do not normalize, a situation resembling a new Cold War will be the best option. The expert emphasizes that without a strategic approach and active measures from Europe, one should not expect an improvement in relations with Russia for a long time.
'The problem with Russia that we are facing cannot be solved until it sheds its colonial and imperial mentality, this war for the revival of the empire, and until the regime and political system in Russia changes,' Reinfeldt noted.
The expert calls for strengthening defense and deterrence in Europe, changing the approach to Ukraine, and increasing pressure on Russia. He emphasizes that it is important to change the mindset, act proactively, and make Russia accountable for every aggression.
Reinfeldt also highlights the importance of Ukraine as a key partner for Europe in the field of security. Ukraine's losses to Russia are considered unacceptable, so support for Ukraine is vital, the expert stated.
Thus, the expert believes that a new Cold War will be the optimal scenario in the absence of normalized relations with Russia. Supporting Ukraine as the main partner in ensuring security in Europe should be a priority for Western countries.
