Circumstances of the Assassination Attempt on Vadym Yermolayev

According to Espreso.tv: Vasyl Vovk, a Major General in the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and a national security specialist, has cast doubt on the impartiality of the investigation into the assassination attempt on Ukrainian oligarch Vadym Yermolayev in Monaco. Vovk described the situation as resembling a script written by talented screenwriters.

“To me, this is a TV series — skilled writers penned the script, and a powerful director is filming it,” the expert remarked.
He added that he is awaiting the resolution of this 'dark story'.

Vadym Yermolayev was targeted as he drove into the parking area near his home in Monaco. The explosion occurred while his family was approaching the house. Those injured in the blast include:

  • Yermolayev himself,
  • his partner Anna Nasobina,
  • their son.

Notably, Nasobina sustained severe injuries, leading to the amputation of both of her legs.

Suspects and Vadym Yermolayev’s Business Interests

Anastasiya Berezovska, aged 39, is the primary suspect in the case, and Interpol has issued a wanted notice for her. At the time of the attack, Yermolayev was 58 years old and had an estimated net worth of $221 million as of 2021.

Yermolayev owns several real estate properties, including:

  • the MIST-City shopping and entertainment center,
  • Cascade Plaza,
  • the Bosfor business center.

His business portfolio spans multiple sectors, such as real estate, the production of aerated concrete, PVC profiles, seamless pipes, dental implants, and the cultivation of premium apple varieties.

The circumstances surrounding the assassination attempt have raised numerous questions. Vasyl Vovk noted that this 'convoluted' story leaves many possible scenarios open.

“Well, it’s such a twisted series, such a dark — I’d even say black — story, that I’m waiting for some kind of resolution,” the expert concluded.

This attempt on Vadym Yermolayev’s life highlights not only the risks faced by businessmen in Ukraine and abroad but also the potential political or criminal interests tied to his activities. The case has drawn the attention of international law enforcement agencies, including Interpol, suggesting a broader context of criminal networks or conflicts of interest linked to his business. Further investigations may shed light on this intricate situation and its possible implications for those involved.
