Experts calculated how many Russian soldiers, tanks, air defenses, and artillery were destroyed by the AFU in a month.
According to the joint project of OBOZ.UA and the group "Information Resistance", in August 2024, Russian occupation forces lost many people and equipment.
In total, 36,810 people died, which is the second highest indicator for the war. A high level of losses in pedestrian infantry and a lack of assault armored vehicles was noted. The situation has been ongoing for the fourth consecutive month, with losses exceeding 35,000 people.
In addition, there were losses in tanks (193 units), combat armored vehicles (557 units), artillery (1517 units), multiple launch rocket systems (44 units), and air defense systems (33 units).
Vehicle losses amounted to 2065 units, and special equipment losses reached a record level of 278 units. Russia uses trucks as compensation for armored vehicles.
The Ukrainian command is successfully implementing a strategy of exhausting the enemy by reducing the use of tanks and combat armored vehicles. Experts believe that a critical shortage of this equipment could occur by the end of 2024.
It should also be noted that 57 children were injured as a result of Russian shelling during August.
