A new electricity tariff launched in Kyiv at 2.30 UAH/kWh: how it works.
According to ТСН: A new electricity tariff has been presented at the Gravity Park residential complex in Kyiv — Free Watt, which costs only 2.30 UAH per kWh. This tariff is available 24/7 without reference to peak hours and is almost twice as cheap as the usual tariff in Ukraine, which is 4.32 UAH.
Autonomy and Energy Provision
Gravity Park is the first residential complex in Kyiv that is completely protected from blackouts. Electricity will not disappear regardless of outages, thanks to its own energy infrastructure, which includes solar panels, inverters, and powerful batteries. Jinko panels installed on the roofs of the buildings generate electrical energy, which is supplied to the grid through DEYE inverters. Excess energy is stored in lithium iron phosphate batteries and used at night or in cloudy weather.
This means that residents do not pay for electricity in common areas such as entrances, elevators, corridors, and parking lots. In case of outages, elevators, lighting, and security systems will continue to operate autonomously, and power in the apartments is also guaranteed.
Expansion of the Energy System
The energy system of the complex is constantly developing. In building No. 2, for example, an inverter that produces 30 kWh has been installed, and the battery can store up to 20 kWh. Similar systems are planned to be installed in three more new buildings. In addition, a large general station with a 100 kWh inverter and a 250 kWh battery is expected, which will be able to supply electricity to a one-room apartment for a month.
Connecting to the Free Watt tariff takes place automatically after signing a contract with the management company. Although the complex is connected to the city power grid, this does not affect the maintenance of the tariff of 2.30 UAH.
Environmental Friendliness and Infrastructure
The use of renewable energy sources significantly reduces the carbon footprint of the residential complex. Environmental friendliness is one of the main principles of Gravity Park, which features low-rise buildings, green courtyards, flower beds, and walking areas. The complex is located at 139 Beresteysky Avenue in the green Svyatoshyn district.
The infrastructure of the complex is extremely diverse: the opening of a shopping and entertainment center with shops, cafes, the NOVUS supermarket, a McDonald’s restaurant, a car wash, a gym, and a rhythmic gymnastics school named after Deryugina is expected. A restaurant by the lake with a swimming pool, relaxation areas, BBQ sites, coffee shops, children's and sports grounds, parking, and shelter are also planned on the territory.
Currently, four buildings of the residential complex have been put into operation, and the construction of nine more is ongoing. At the same time, landscaping of the territory is taking place, creating green zones and modern playgrounds for children.
Thus, the Gravity Park project not only provides residents with affordable electricity but also contributes to the development of energy autonomy and ecological awareness. This has become an important step in the context of stable energy supply risks in Ukraine and emphasizes the need to transition to renewable energy sources.
