Undistributed profit of 'Energoatom' reached 61 billion hryvnias

According to inkorr.com: Since the beginning of the tariff increase for the population, the company 'Energoatom' has recorded a record undistributed profit of 61 billion hryvnias. This was reported by the head of the Consumers' Association of Utility Services Oleg Popenko.

33 billion hryvnias from this amount were used to implement the mechanism of special obligations (PSO), which he considers discriminatory and manipulative. The mentioned mechanism operates not at the true cost of electricity production but at a 'market price' that is four times higher than the actual costs. Another 28 billion hryvnias remain in the company, so now the State Audit Office should conduct an audit to determine where these funds have gone.

The expert emphasizes that the price of electricity for the population has no economic justification, and the governmental PSO mechanism is erroneous and unfair. 'What should protect people has turned into a tool for redistributing billions within the energy market,' he stated.

After the increase in tariffs for the population, 'Energoatom' received a record 61 billion hryvnias of undistributed profit. However, part of these funds went to the PSO mechanism, which experts consider manipulative and discriminatory. Currently, a revision is planned to establish the further fate of these funds, although critics are already expressing concerns about the negative impact of this mechanism on the energy market.

Thus, the situation with the undistributed profit of 'Energoatom' and the PSO mechanism raises significant concerns among specialists and consumers. Conducting an audit could shed light on the further fate of the funds and point out possible violations in the tariff formation mechanisms in the electricity market. These events will be important for policy in the energy sector and for consumer rights protection in Ukraine.
