Yermak assessed the results of Modi's visit to Ukraine.
Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak commented on the important visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Ukraine, which took place on August 23, 2024.
"This is the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to our country in history," emphasized Yermak.
According to him, the main topics of the meeting were economic cooperation, the agricultural sector, the defense industry, and the Formula for Peace. Yermak noted that President Volodymyr Zelensky and Narendra Modi signed documents on cooperation in the fields of medicine, agriculture, humanitarian aid, and culture.
During the negotiations, special attention was paid to UN principles. "The leaders discussed the importance of protecting UN principles, particularly territorial integrity, which is an unwavering position of India," emphasized the Head of the President's Office.
Yermak also reported on an invitation from Zelensky: "The President expressed gratitude to India for participating in the first Peace Summit and invited Modi to participate in the second, highlighting the importance of diplomatic efforts in this direction."
Regarding defense cooperation, Yermak noted: "India has already chosen Ukrainian power units for its warships. Mutual interest in developing this direction is only growing, and the second meeting of the joint working group is planned to be held in India soon."
In conclusion, Andriy Yermak emphasized: "India, as one of the key states in the world, consistently advocates for the peaceful resolution of conflicts. Its interests fully align with Ukraine's in the pursuit of stabilizing the global security system."
